What is a dietitian?
A dietitian is a degree qualified health professional who helps to promote nutritional well being; treat disease and prevent nutrition-related problems by providing practical, safe advice based on current scientific evidence. Donna Westley is a state registered dietitian and a member of the Irish Nutrition and Dietetic Institute (INDI).
Why do you need to see a dietitian?
A dietitian can translate nutrition science into understandable, practical information about food to help prevent or alleviate nutrition related problems and medical conditions. Donna can provide individualized practical nutritional advice to allow people to make the appropriate lifestyle and food choices.

Consultation fees
Donna Westley is a member of INDI, the professional body for Irish Dietitians which entitles you to claim for potential costs from your health insurance companies. The level of cover provided varies between companies and policies so check with your insurer prior to your appointment.
Fees may also be included for tax relief on medical expenses, using the MED.1 form. This form and an information leaflet may be downloaded from www.revenue.ie

She has experience working in a clinical setting such asAddingtonHospital,Durbanin the clinical dietetics department and with the food service department.
Donna is available to provide a one to one patient consultation at the Mallow Primary Healthcare Centre by appointment only.
