Salts Community Stoma Care Service
Salts community Stoma Care service is a Nurse Led service providing patient centred individualised care. The service prevents complications and rehospitalisation episodes through regular review of patients stoma’s with the provision of community visits for ongoing educational and emotional support to patients, family members, Public Health Nurses and carers. The service expanded in 2013 to the 4th Practice at MPHC to assist with enhancing primary care and is a prime location for reduction in regular outpatient numbers.
The Clinic is run by Stoma Nurse Advisor Sinéad Kelly, who has a Diploma in Nursing (2001), a Graduate Diploma in Gastrointestinal Nursing (2007) and a MSc in Advanced Nursing Practice (2015).

Sinead Kelly
Sinéad has many years of experience in Stoma Care and also previously worked in England and Australia. Sinéad has a keen interest in improving patient care and her recent study on change management within Irish Stoma Care services was published in the Gastrointestinal Nursing Journal.
